We were pointed to one side at the back of the ferry and offered ropes to tie up our bikes. To the right side?? Well, it looked like a smooth crossing of the Strait of Juan de Furca to Vancouver Island.
After the 90 minute ride we faced customs without any problems and rode into Victoria (the town not THAT state) and out the other side.
We were on our way to Jan's place. Jan is a friend of Jack's and has kindly offered to put us up while we are on the Island. More wonderful hospitality in North America.
It was a couple of hours up the main drag, stopping to look at a couple of lookouts and also once to change a tyre on Jack's trailer. It was getting a little bald and not matching the new one on the other side.
We got to Jan's in good time and what a lovely lady she turned out to be. Even offered up her own bedroom, but we sorted that out.
She lives right across from the beach facing east and the Georgia Strait. We went for a walk on the beach - very rocky - with Jan's dog Maddy who just loves fetching sticks from the water. Then Jan fed us a lovely meal. We sure are spoilt.
Here's today's photos:-
