Quiet Eureka - 16 miles

Yes it was a quieter day today.  We had a good sleep-in then went in to town for some shopping and brunch.  We needed some warm clothing - specially for Charleen.   That way I'd get my jumper back.

Then we had an early lunch at a buffet style restaurant where it was all you could eat for $8.95.  There was quite a variety of food, but, maybe we just weren't hungry.   We left feeling full after seemingly not eating much.

I got in some good practice just tooling around the town, getting my turns down pat.  Long lefts and short rights or the mantra we use "Righty tighty, Lefty loosey."  Sounds silly I know, but we do need something to remind us, and although it is borrowed from Home Handyman for Dummies, it works for right-side driving.

Back to our cabin and I took the opportunity to give BRed a good tub.  First one since Jack handed it it to us bright and shiny nearly a week ago.  Lots of resting and reading.  I bought Phil Plait's book, Death From The Skies.    The book lists all the ways our little planet can easily be destroyed by the big bad universe - but written cheerfully.   Phil is fairly famous for his blog The Bad Astronomer - look him up.   We will probably meet him in Las Vegas so I hope to get the book autographed.

Charleen's voice is just about back to normal.  The day without riding seems to have done good.

Jack has arrived and brought some rain with him so he is bunking in with us in the cabin.  Temp is in the low fifties F which is in the low teens C.  Low clouds - has been all day and drizzle rain.  But the cabin has a heater and so we're snug.
