The forecast was for 24C - which is what we set our car A/c at - so I thought it would be a lovely day. That idea was soon quashed at we rode between snow-capped mountains across the island. Pretty soon we had to stop and put on another layer.
It did get warmer as we descended to the west coast and the day over there was lovely. Albeit with a breeze that came directly from the Arctic.
At Tofino we found a nice restaurant and had halibut and chips. Then call in at a number of beaches. There were surfers there, but all in full wet suits.
All in all, a lovely day on more good roads.
Here's Charleen's pics.

Jack carried Jan - check out the helmet. No prizes for guessing she borrowed it from a nearby Harley shop.

I stumbled across your blog a couple of days ago and have been following it on a regular basis. I live in Port Alberni (you would have passed through on your way to Tofino).
ReplyDeleteGreat picture on Little Mountain! I was up there for the first time myself yesterday evening.
Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Kevin
Hi Kevin, Nice to see a local looking in. We enjoyed the ride up the steep road to Little Mountain as well.
ReplyDeleteWe were also amazed that Port Alberni was so far inland. This Island is full of surprises.
Cheers
Clint
Good to see you are finally in better weather. One week to go and we will be heading your way.

Clint and Charlene,
ReplyDeleteBartman from the GL1800Riders board. I knew you two were in the states, but didn't realize you had a blog going till today. I just finished reading every post and looking at every picture. Looks like you're having a teriffic time. If you like the twisties and good roads, wait till you get to my side of the country and experience the mountains of Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.
If you do make it to Jacksonville, Florida and need a place to hole up, be sure to let me know.
Keep up the good work on the posts. It's great reading!
Thanks Bartman, we will be over that way in a month or two. Keep in touch.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting up with you Bob and Kerry.
Cheers
Clint
