The last day is a bit quiet as many have already gone, but there was the closing ceremony to see so we waited around.
We did have a try at riding GoldWing trikes. We managed to get one each and had a blatt around the car park. It was a big car park so we could get a feel for how they handle and react.
Sorry, not impressed. I think I'd get very tired arms from all the steering. And constantly having to hold on in the corners to stop from sliding off the seat.
Then we tried a Thoroughbred Stallion. Not a horse, but a new kind of trike. There's a photo on yesterday's blog. It has a steering wheel with power steering and you sit "inside" a shell. They have a 2.3 litre Ford engine and auto box. 150HP so they get up and go and the brakes are quite good. They took us out on the road for a while, but the streets in Tulsa are all set out in squares so there wasn't much chance to test out the handling qualities - but they did seem to hold on quite well powering into righthanders. They sell for around $33K here and currently not available in Australia and no current plans, but they are getting requests, so they might be one day. They were a lot of fun and better to ride than GoldWing trikes.
Still prefer our two-wheelers though.
We said our farewells to Paul and saw him on his way. Don't worry Sue, we looked after him. Hope you guys can make it over our way again.
Then we attended the closing ceremony. Ken and Christine won the technical prize for the longest distance international couple. It was determined by straight-line distance and Melbourne is further away than Brisbane. Would have been interesting if only Bob and I had entered - we live in the same suburb. Good on them - expecially as they ousted a couple of Kiwis.
After that it was a couple of beers in Bob and Kerry's room then go for a walk for tea. They have a shop here that sells specialty icecream and it is delicious.
Only a few pics today:-

It was a lot of fun hanging out with Clint and Charlene and Bob And Kerry at the Wingding. Sue and I love Australia and I am doing everything I can to get sent over for another tour. I am on a two 1/2 week solo tour of the Western U.S. reconnecting with some old friends and sightseeing. To one and all, keep the shiny side up!
